Frequently asked questions –  FAQ

It is absolutely normal to have doubts about some of the aspects of the contest, it happens to everyone. Here we will try to answer the most frequently asked questions.

What type of clothes and shoes should I bring to TPW24?

Bring comfortable wear and footwear for most of the time. Nevertheless, in the Cantabrian Coast in April it could be chilly in the mornings and nights. Rain is also probable from time to time. So, bring some warm clothes and a raincoat. Trekking shoes are also advisable. Most of the locations will be at a very short walk from the car park, but there is the possibility of some mid-range trekking in one or two of them.

As in any Gala Dinner, we need to dress-up appropriately. We recommend Black Tie and as a minimum it is required Semi-Formal Dress Code (visit dress code help).

What type of photographic gear should I bring to TPW24?

We will be focused on landscape (and seascape) photography most of the time, but night photography and abstractions will also be a subject. So, with basic equipment you are ok. Nevertheless, if possible, make sure you bring a good tripod and lenses ranging from wide angle to tele. It is advisable, if possible, filters and a head lamp for early and late sessions.

Can I ask to be in the same group as a fellow assistant?

Of course, just let us know during the communication that we will have with all the assistants during the days prior to the event.

What if I have alimentary restrictions or requirements?

No problem at all. Just let us know during the communication that we will have with all the assistants during the days prior to the event and we’ll do our best to comply with your needs.

How can I get to the Base Hotel?

The Hotel is most easily accessed from the Santander Airport, but Bilbao and Asturias Airports are at less than two-hour drive (Madrid Airport is at 4-hour drive). We will provide free shuttle transportation two times the day the event starts from each of these three airports trying to accommodate to the arrival times for everyone. Those airports receive daily flights from most of the major European cities, including Madrid. Nevertheless, should you need additional info or help, just let us know.

We advise you to book your flights as soon as possible as they are easily fully booked.

What if I have to cancel my Booking?

        See our Cancellation policy section.

What is the right time to arrive?

It is advisable getting to the hotel during the morning of the first day, Monday 15th. The first workshop will leave the Hotel by 19:30 and we wouldn’t like you to miss it.

If you plan to get there earlier or later than that, let us know and we’ll try to help with that.

When is available a final schedule of the event?

We plan to have a final tentative version 15 days before the event starts. Why tentative? Well, we are subject to external factors that could affect us, the most important of that being the weather. But don’t worry we are plenty of alternatives to accommodate to weather conditions.

I have mobility restrictions. Can I attend the event?

If you can move by yourself, you can attend. Most of the locations are easily accessible from the car park. If you suffer some kind of restrictions, you might be unable to do one or two locations, but there are always alternatives. In any case, give us a shout and we will analyze the case with you.

Are there available double occupancy rooms?

Yes, but only for booking directly for two assistants that know each other and make the reservation together in that option or for an assistant with one non-assistant partner. We will not put together in a room two unknown persons. The basic price is in an individual room, but all rooms are spacy enough for two people.
